What is the 'The Unseen Archive' ?
A photographic resource covering the last 50 years of Suffolk life. The Unseen Archive aims to be a valuable and accessible educational and heritage resource for all.
The East Anglian Daily Times (EADT) holds a photographic archive of over 2 million images, which cover the last 50 years of Suffolk life. Until now much of this unique collection of images has never been seen by the public, The Unseen Archive allows greater access to a large selection of these images.
A unique pictorial resource...
The archive contains a large selection of images covering all aspects of social, economic and environmental life in our county from the 1950’s to the present day. Whether you want to view the photographs for pleasure or use in a school or college project, the photographs provide a fascinating glimpse into Suffolk history. The Unseen Archive is continually updated with new images and will continue to be updated in 2005 and 2006!
A valuable educational resource…
The Unseen Archive images cover a range of curriculum-based topics and are very relevant to history, geography, ICT, literacy and numeracy, particularly for key stage 1 and 2. Visit our schools page for ideas on how The Unseen Archive could be used as a valuable aid to teaching and learning.
Key Stage 1 & 2 Unseen Archive educational material is now available to download from SLAMNET
